February is Black History Month!

February Celebrates the Rich Contributions and History
of African Americans and All People of Color:

Balanced, Abundant Living
Involves Embracing Our Diversity!

Celebrate Black History Month Every Month!

Ironically, although February is the shortest and coldest month of the year, there is a warmth and brilliance of having our history taught and highlighted to every generation.

Having grown up in Washington, D.C., I grew up having first-hand experience witnessing changes in this country’s racial history up close and personal.

This month highlights our racial struggles and multi-faceted contributions to the U.S. and the multicultural aspects of Black history (Afro-Caribbean, Afro-Native American, Afro-Hispanic, Afro-Asian, etc.). African American people’s enormous contribution to this country must never again be overlooked.
Black History is also multicultural history for all people of color.

Also, this month, my Asian sisters and brothers celebrate Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year) starting February 1 (celebrated annually depending on the sighting of the new moon. It’s also known as the Spring Festival) and lasts for 15 days.
I invite you to take time out this month to actively learn something new about my culture and the culture of all people of color that make up the fabric of this country.
