September is National Preparedness Month—a timely reminder that emergencies rarely arrive when life is convenient

Preparedness for family caregivers and people aging in place includes more than emergency supplies. It also means organizing medication lists, emergency contacts, medical information, backup caregiving arrangements, and instructions that someone else can follow if needed.

If you live alone, identify at least two trusted people who can check on you during an emergency—and make sure they know where your essential information is kept.

My printable Caregiver Planner can help you organize important caregiving, medical, and emergency information in one accessible place.

You do not have to prepare for everything today! Start with one page, one conversation, or one updated contact.
